BT30 Dual Contact Threaded Body Modular Holders
Threaded body tool holders accept screw in indexable cutters. These cutters are also called Modular indexable cutters. These tool holders have a precise flat shoulder and id ground pilot diameter that centers the indexable cutter. The Indexable cutter body threads into the tool holder by means of a right hand thread. All cutting forces increase the bond between tool holder and cutter body. Save inventory by only replacing cutter heads and not shanks. Mix and match different gage length tool holders and neck diameters to get the length and clearances you need. Tool holders with slightly smaller neck diameters are designated with an M at end of the part number. Currently modular tool holders are available in sizes M8, M10, M12, M16, and M20. This designation refers to the internal thread size. For example the M10 Modular interface has a thread of M10 X 1.5 and the precise pilot diameter is 10.5mm. MariTool internally grinds the pilot diameter to very precise tolerances so the threaded modular indexable cutter centers perfectly with the tool holder.
